We do not bill any insurance plans in this direct primary care practice. Instead, we have a flat monthly membership fee that covers your primary care services without any additional copays. If you have an insurance plan and decide to enroll, you can continue to use your insurance to cover medications, labs, imaging, specialist consultations, hospital/ER visits. We recommend some form of health insurance or health share for emergencies.

We encourage you to have basic health insurance in case of hospitalization or larger expenses. Your insurance will not be billed by us for visits or services within Moonstone Direct Primary Care, but you can use it for larger expenses such as imaging, specialist visits, ER visits, hospitalizations and more.

Yes, absolutely! However, because HMOs require you to have an in-network physician to order your referrals, imaging, medications, and labs to get them covered under the HMO, Dr. Dhami’s role in your healthcare is more of an expert advocate that helps you navigate your care.

Schedule a complementary meet and greet with Dr. Dhami. We’ll review your current health needs, health goals, and our specific direct primary care practice model to see if its a good fit.
Dr. Dhami likes meeting new people and making sure they’re getting what they need for their healthcare journey, so please don’t feel shy.Additionally, I host a monthly Walk with a Doc in Milpitas, where we discuss a health topic and take a fun community walk. You do not need to be a member or prospective member of Moonstone DPC to join us. It’s just part of building strong, healthy communities!

There are many physicians adopting the direct primary care model, and we have one major thing in common- we want people to have access to comprehensive evidence-based care. The direct primary care model is supported by the American Association of Family Physicians (AAFP).
If you’re in California, check out the California DPC Coalition for a list of physicians practicing in the DPC model.
DPC frontier also has an interactive map that lists many DPC practices in California and across the nation.
